Competitive sport has been a part of my life from a very young age, swimming for the City of Cardiff from the age of 8, competing in national cross country races and playing football for my school and local club. With a little persuasion from my uncle I dabbled a bit with triathlon in my teens, joining Cardiff triathlon club, but mainly stuck to swimming as I was reluctant to step out of my comfort zone. After taking a (prolonged) break from sport to study for A levels and adopting a more causal approach to sport whilst studying for a degree in Psychology at Bath University I returned to competitive sport in my final year. Having turned up to races in the past (following very minimal training) and got some decent results I decided it was time to take triathlon a bit more seriously. I soon fell in love with the sport and the people and have not looked back since!
